What time do most Oslo Marathon runners finish?
With a 09:00 start, expect: First finishers (elite runners) around 11:05–11:15. Bulk of the field (3–5 hour runners) 12:00–14:00. Final runners (6 hour cut-off) around 15:00. Half marathon runners finish approximately 11:00–12:30 depending on pace.
Can I move around Oslo while the marathon is running?
Yes, but be prepared for delays. Some roads in the city centre are closed 09:00–14:00 on race day. Avoid driving in the city centre on race day.
What should I bring as a spectator?
Spectator kit for Oslo Marathon: (1) Handmade sign with your runner's name — they LOVE it; (2) Comfortable shoes for lots of walking between spots; (3) Warm clothes — September in Oslo can be cool in the morning; (4) Maps/mobile map — the course is long and you'll move between locations; (5) Snacks and coffee — there's lots of waiting between pace groups; (6) Fully charged phone for live tracking and photos.
